Wishcasting Wednesday: Who is the Me I Wish to Be?

Jamie Ridler asks us, this week, Who is the 'you' which you wish to be?

I wish to grow into the grasp of balance and moderation.
I wish to always remain open to truth's embrace.
I wish to remain mindful of the Big Real behind everything I do.
I wish to have strength and wisdom enough to detach from my brilliance in my writing, when necessary. Brilliance must fuel my courage, not my ego.
I wish to BE always satisfied, grateful and delighted with what I have ... what surrounds me ... and the graces that befall me.

As you wish it, so I wish for you also. Great distinction between courage and ego.

Hi Tinkerbell,

Thanks for the link to the Big Real. Loved that way of thinking. Lots of great "to be" wishes you've written here. I chose this one to focus on for you: I wish for you to always remain open to truth's embrace!

Enjoy ...

Totally love how you said "wisdom enough to detach from my brilliance in my writing, when necessary. Brilliance must fuel my courage, not my ego." I'm filing that away in my brain immediately - thanks -
As Tink wishes for herself, so too do I wish for Tink.

I love the comments you made especially "Brilliance must fuel my courage, not my ego."
and
"I wish to BE always satisfied, grateful and delighted with what I have ... what surrounds me ... and the graces that befall me."
May all your wishes come true.

Tinkerbell, I'm among those who like the concept of brilliance fueling courage rather than ego. Because when I fill up on ego, I become complacent, and then when I hit a low point, when things don't go my way, instead of looking back on my successes as a reason for courage, I sink into hopelessness.

In fact, one effective treatment for depression is to look back at past successes—or to find someone who will help point out to you your past successes—and identify all the things you have going for you, as a means to encourage you. (There's that word courage again.) And then you look outward, at how you can use these resources to connect with others, rather than dwelling on yourself, because depression is very ego-centric. (And there's that word ego again.)

Having gone through this recently myself, it's all very poignant in my mind.

Thanks for the post, Tinkerbell.

As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you also.
